For the Moms Foundation
You show up for your child and your career every single day without a net. For the Moms Foundation provides childcare support to single mothers who fall through the cracks of government assistance, so you can thrive at both.
The Benefits Cliff
Thousands of single mothers earn just enough to be disqualified from government assistance, but not nearly enough to actually afford childcare. They work full-time jobs, raise their children with everything they have, and still come up short. For the Moms Foundation was built for them.
Connecting moms with accessible, affordable childcare so they can stay employed and financially stable.
No mom should navigate single parenthood alone. We're building the community that too many of us never had.
Work, motherhood, and self. You deserve space for all three, not just survival mode.
"I just needed someone to show up for me the way I show up for my son every single day."— Kamber McCleary, Founder

Rooted in Naples, Florida. Carried to Vancouver, Washington.
My son was born in Naples, Florida, and from the very first day, I was on my own. The pregnancy was hard, the birth came early at 36 weeks, and we spent four weeks in the NICU together while I held down a full-time remote job with almost no one around to lean on. A handful of friends. No family close by. No village.
Naples is a beautiful place, and an expensive one. Finding affordable housing simply wasn't an option there. I was making enough to be disqualified from government assistance, but not nearly enough to feel anything close to stable. Childcare alone was an impossible number. I searched for nannies, got stood up, started over, and kept going because I had no other choice. Everything I earned went right back out the door just to keep working.
I made too much to qualify for help, but I was far from okay. I was in the gap and nobody seemed to see it.
When an opportunity came to start over, I took it. I moved thousands of miles across the country to Vancouver, Washington, with my son and not much else. A new city, a lower cost of living on paper, but still a heavy one in reality. I started from scratch all over again. No support system. No village. Just me, my son, and a deep belief that something better was possible.
I eventually found a nanny, but the math still barely worked. Most of what I earned went straight to childcare. There was no balance, no breathing room, no space to just be a mother without also being a provider, a problem solver, and the only safety net my son had.
This foundation was born in Naples and built in Vancouver. It exists because I lived this story from coast to coast, and I know I am not the only one. The gap does not care what city you are in. And no mother, wherever she is, should have to carry all of this alone.
Our Mission
"To provide childcare support and resources to single mothers who fall above the income threshold for government assistance, but remain unable to afford the childcare they need to thrive."
Founder & President
Single mother, advocate, and the person who decided that if the system wouldn't fill the gap, she would build something that does. From Naples, Florida all the way to Vancouver, Washington.
You don't have to figure this out alone. Let's see how we can help.

Every dollar goes directly toward childcare support for single mothers who need it most.
Quality childcare runs about $25 per hour. For a mom working a full day, 8 am to 5 pm, that's 9 hours and $225 just to get through one workday. Here's what your donation actually covers.
For the Moms Foundation, Inc. is a registered nonprofit in Washington State.
Your donation will be tax-deductible once our 501(c)(3) status is confirmed.
